Cutting corners, defined by several dictionaries and schools of thought ,mean no good.
Remember anything worth doing is worth doing well!
Cutting corners can be defined as doing something perfunctorily to save money on time.
Cambridge dictionary defines cutting corners as doing something in the easiest,cheapest or fastest way,often ,ignoring every sign of caution.
Urban dictionary defines cutting corners as doing something with less than the appropriate amount of care.
Cutting corners in nursing,has been characterized as violation and threat to patient's safety. In their conclusions,the study found that cutting corners,created gaps that contributed to unfinished care and adverse events,that would have been avoided.
Cutting corners can only come from insecurity.Insecurity leads to unwise thoughts and destructive questions as ;
'My mates are doing so well so quickly.I am afraid,if I am not fast,I won't make it on time!"
'Why do I have to spend so much on this quality,when I can spend less for more quantity?'
'What is the point of waiting on the queue,when I can go through the back door?"
Forgetting that these short-cuts and corners are dark and uncertain.An accountant would often describe cutting corners as 'penny wise,pound foolish'.
I define risks in terms of wisdom and foolishness.
Taking the risk of going through a longer route but the right one,is what I can define as a wise risk.
Now,taking risk as such as going through the back door of many things in life,one can define as taking a foolish risk.
Another factor that contributes to people cutting corners is impatience.
Patience,they say,is a special virtue,it takes a special grace to be patient.
Impatience works side by side with anger.As we cut corners,because of impatience,blinded by anger coated with pride,we don't see the danger in front of us.
We drive into the danger and what awaits us there is our doom!
Let's do away with the habit of cutting corners,it leads us to nothing but danger and doom!
